“Bless Your Mind” Podcast hosted by Isis Berns.
Generously created by the local Japan, Hokkaido radio station AIR-G’ 80.4FM.
Isis is a volunteer pastor with her husband Johannes Berns at a local Christian church in Hokkaido, Lifehouse Sapporo.
Have you ever felt completely alone? Physically alone where nobody is around, or emotionally alone when you feel like nobody else understands, because nobody else is going through what you’re going through?
I felt that way many times, but each time I also felt encouraged to realize in fact, I was never alone. In some moments I had my family, in others I had friends to encourage me, and in moments when I felt completely alone, I tried to pray for help, and instead of that loneliness, I felt God give me hope!
I’ve run to people for help but the person that took away my pain, depression, and darkness for good, was Jesus. He was the run that reached out, waiting for me to grab his hand, if I was willing, and he not only took away the darkness, he replaced it with hope, joy, peace, and freedom! What freedom!!! I can say with complete confidence that I am fully free of hurt, loneliness, and depression, thanks to this dear friendship.
Some people think Jesus is just a historical figure of the past that’s come and gone like all the rest. What makes him so different from other preachers or teachers? Why do billions of people since his death over 2000 years ago still proclaim he is God? It’s because of these personal individual experiences, and personal encounters. He doesn’t just sit on a cloud far away from us, he comes to us in our needs–but he doesn’t force us to receive him, he waits until we say “Now. I want to know you, I want to meet you too, Jesus. Come into my life, show me.”
If you’d like to hear more of the Easter story, or how this experience can be your experience too, feel free to watch this church service online, or find a local Christian church near you!
